GDPR and property tips: how ImmoTell® handles personal data

A property tip is personal data. It names a building. It often names a person. Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), that is not a small detail.

This article explains how ImmoTell® treats that data when you submit a tip. It follows the published Privacy Policy and the FAQ. It is not legal advice.

Why a tip includes personal data

ImmoTell® connects people who know of a property with a professional sales process. To do that job, the platform processes:

If the property is not yours, the process also needs owner contact — name, email, and phone — so ImmoTell® can request consent and, after consent, so an agent can make contact.

Those categories match the Privacy Policy. They are not optional extras. Without them there is no tip, no sale process, and no Reward payout.

Owner consent before contact

ImmoTell® does not treat a tip as a licence to cold-call an owner.

When you submit a tip about someone else’s property, you confirm that the owner agrees you may submit it. The owner then completes a consent form on this website. Only after that consent may a certified agent contact them.

When you submit a tip about your own property, your submit consents cover that step. There is no separate owner form on the website.

A tip can be rejected when owner consent is missing. That is a data rule as much as a quality rule: ImmoTell® should not process an owner’s contact for a sale they never agreed to.

Limited purposes

The Privacy Policy states the purposes in one sentence: providing the service, processing tips, facilitating property sales, and executing Reward payments.

In practice that means:

ImmoTell® does not describe your tip as an open listing for the public web. Data is not processed “because it might be useful later” without a purpose in that list.

The legal bases in the Privacy Policy include consent (for marketing), performance of a contract (the service and payments), legal obligations (for example tax records), and legitimate interests (platform security and fraud prevention).

Who can see what

Access is narrower than “everyone on the platform”.

If you invite another person, that invitation is a relationship in the product. It is not a reason to publish their identity to a wider network.

Your GDPR rights

Under GDPR you can:

The Privacy Policy names support@immotell.de as the contact for these requests.

Account deletion has separate product rules. If you delete your account, future invitation bonuses from people you invited end. Claims that already arose from a tip you submitted before deletion can remain, when the conditions for payment are met. Read the FAQ on account deletion and the terms before you decide.

What this article does not claim

ImmoTell® states that data is processed under applicable data protection rules and is used to handle tips and Rewards. This article does not add a certification, a seal, or a named law firm.
